Our mission is to unite the community to care for one another.

We have served Ballarat since 1983, when the Ballarat and District Community Fund was formed. In 1997 it changed its name to United Way Ballarat Community Fund and became part of a wider charitable community with access to new ideas and resources.

Who are we?

The United Way Ballarat Community Fund is Ballarat's pre-eminent not-for-profit fundraising organisation. The Fund was established in 1983, becoming an affiliate of United Way International in 1997. United Way is a global network of non-profit organisations operating in 45 countries.

We are a non-profit, non-religious, non-political, independent organisation that raises funds in the Ballarat area to support essential health and wellbeing programs in the region (Ballarat plus a 50 kilometre radius).

Your United Way is run by people living in Ballarat; the important decisions are made by local people who understand local circumstances.

Money raised in the Ballarat region stays in the Ballarat region. In 2007, we are supporting more than 20 local programs financially as well as providing extra non-financial help through our Corporate Connect/Day of Caring Program.

We rely on the generosity of thousands of individuals in the Ballarat region to raise funds through our Workplace Giving Program, where people have the opportunity to donate a small sum from their salary to benefit the wider community in which they live and work.

We have impact. In the end, it's not about how much money we raised or how many committed and intelligent people worked together; it's about making permanent changes that improve lives and strengthen our community.
